7 Melio features to help you pay and get paid faster

During our second ever Town Square on November 2nd, we shared some of 2022’s most popular features. We invited customers to learn what’s going on behind the scenes at Melio and to ask questions. Feature #1: Combined payments  

Say you need to pay ten different invoices, all from the same vendor. Sure, you can schedule ten individual payments, or, you can pay them all at once with the combined payments feature. Save time by doing it all in a few clicks, save money on check fees, and make life simpler for you and your vendor.

Feature #2: Sync button

Once connected to your accounting software, Melio automatically syncs your data every five minutes. Now you can also click the sync button as often as you’d like. By clicking the sync button, you can be sure that both your accounting software and Melio are up to date.

Feature #3: Payment link

To get paid faster, you can set up your customized Melio payment link. Share your link directly with customers to make their lives easier, add it to your website, and even attach it to your email signature. Your customers can now initiate a payment whenever they want without you having to send a payment request.

Feature #4: Tax forms

Yes, you can use Melio to pay business bills and to get paid, but did you know that you can also use it when it's time to do your taxes? You can export a CSV file of your annual payments so you can quickly calculate all relevant business expenses. This makes it easier for you and your accountant to fill out your 1099 forms (both 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC). Who doesn’t want their taxes done faster?

Feature #5: Payment history data

You can also export a payment report of any date range in the form of a CSV file. The file contains details of processed payments performed over a specific period of time that you manually set. This feature enables you to share your payments with anyone—both on and off Melio. This is helpful when it comes to physical record keeping, and also assists when calculating cash flow and budget.

Feature #6: Search, sort & filter

The search, sort, and filter buttons allow you to arrange your bills your way. Sort allows you to organize by most recent, due date, or vendor name. With the search button, you can search anything for both Pay and Get Paid and pull up what you’re looking for within seconds. And you can filter bills in your Pay inbox by status, due date, or vendor. With these features, you can find what you’re looking for faster and speed up your overall payment process.

Feature #7: Voiding a check 

Have you ever sent a check and then decided you want to change to a different delivery method? Or maybe you had the wrong mailing address for your vendor? Well, now you can void that check, for free. As long as the recipient hasn’t cashed the check, you can void it at any time and resend payment however you’d like. Plus, you’ll automatically get an email reminder if a check hasn’t been cashed in 30 days.
